Researcher Profile
Victoria Akyea has worked with students in various format over the course of her undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral career and has a passion for bringing a holistic perspective to health and wellness to the emerging adult population.
While earning her Bachelor’s in Biology from Geneva College (2015-2020), Miss Akyea worked in peer support roles through various on-campus activities and clubs, and gained interest in the undergraduate experience for various majors including science/pre-med, education, and the arts. After graduating she attended Liberty University, working towards her Masters of Public Health with a focus on Global Health (2020-2022) to better understand the global impacts of health trends and well-being.
In addition to her studies, she has worked as a mentor and coordinator for young leader’s programs and internships, specifically at the Institute for Women’s Health, where she has had additional engagement with both undergraduate and graduate students, learning more about the impact of lived experience and quality of life on student success.
Miss Akyea is eager to discover how taking a holistic approach to quality of life for students could contribute to improved student success, retention, and long-term well-being post-graduation for students in the United States.
